Institute for Community and Justice - Get Involved

0

There are many ways to get involved with the Institute for Community and Justice.

1)    Join us in prayer for Community and Justice.

2)    Lead and/or coordinate one of our Healing sessions. We meet once a month between 11:30-1:30pm to share a meal, stories and lift prayers or reconciliation and healing.

3)    Event promotion: Help us spread the word about our colloquia and healing fellowship activities

4)    Offer a topic or presentation for a Colloquia. Once or twice per month we seek to engage in dialogue and discuss topics of influence and relevance to social justice.

5)    Training and Development: Creating opportunities to cultivate community and justice leaders. Trainings, curriculum, researching articles and videos of interest, organizing topic resources based on themes and priorities.

6)    Scholarship: Would you be interested in submitting a position paper from your discipline and perspective that aligns with our mission? We are coordinating efforts to promote and integrate learning, faith and community to take directive action around issues of biblical justice and mercy through vehicles of reconciliation.

7)    Service: What are the service gaps and needs in our community? Would you like to help us identify these and strategize ways to restore land and people to God through service?

8)    Community engagement: How can we integrate our efforts strategically with the City of Greenville and surrounding communities. Do you have ideas or systemic ways to help?

9)    Podcast: We need help to organize, brand and advertise a podcast on Community and Justice at Greenville.

10) Creative works: Would you be interested in engaging the community in social justice dialogue and reflection through your art gallery, film or concert (themes/topics to consider: racism, sexism, religious intolerance, ageism, classism, ethnocentrism, xenophobia, vehicles of reconciliation and/or other social justice topic)?

11) Your idea…what are the ways in which you envision heaven on earth, as it relates to issues of social justice, biblical mercy and truth?
