The Position

The President will serve as the senior executive, having and exercising overall leadership for Greenville College.  This will include leading the faculty and administrative staff while setting and attaining the development, operating and academic programming goals which best fulfill the mission of the college

Under the current organizational structure the following report directly to the President
  • Vice President for Academic Affairs & Dean of the College
  • Vice President for Finance
  • Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management
  • Senior Vice President for Advancement
  • Vice President of Operations & Chief Information Officer
  • Vice President for Student Development
  • Associate Vice President for Strategic Innovation & Dean of the School of Professional Studies  (new – temp. on Cabinet)

The President of Greenville College reports to the Board of Trustees (26 members).  This individual is an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board of Trustees, all Board Committees, and the Greenville College Foundation Board

Free Methodist Affiliation Print E-mail

College and Church Working Together

From its founding in 1892, Greenville College has been a Free Methodist school. It remains unapologetically Free Methodist although most of its current students do not have a Free Methodist church experience in their background. 

Over the years, the student profile has gradually shifted from predominantly Free Methodist to one with no denominational majority. At the beginning of its fifty-first year (1942-43) when Greenville enrolled 196 students, 70 percent were Free Methodist. By 1990-91 about 30 percent of all GC students were Free Methodist and today only 9 percent of the student body are affiliated with the FM church. However, even with this decline in the percentage of Free Methodist student enrollment, the church's doctrine and ideals are still central to the mission of the school and to the life-style its students are called to uphold

The Mannoia Years Print E-mail
Dr. V. James Mannoia, Jr., tenth president of Greenville College, announced his retirement, effective July 1, 2008, at a gathering of college faculty and staff Monday, May 19. Dr. Ed Blue, dean of the School of Education, will serve as interim president while the college conducts a presidential search.
 
Mannoia assumed the presidency of Greenville College January 1, 1999, having previously served as Academic vice president and dean of the college at Houghton College (NY) and associate Academic dean at Westmont College (CA).

Presidential Search Update, Oct. 2008 Print E-mail
The Presidential Search Committee met Saturday, October 25th at the Greenville Free Methodist Church. The objectives for the gathering were to review committee actions to date, discuss preliminary data from the campus-wide survey, develop supporting documents for the upcoming promotional announcement, and review the upcoming calendar for search related dates.
