Traditional Enrollment Tops 1,000
GREENVILLE, ILL. – Greenville College posted
enrollment figures today with a total of 1451 students registered for the fall
semester, an increase of 100 students over last fall. The college’s primary
areas of growth this fall are in the undergraduate student population, which has
topped 1,000, as well as the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program, which has
almost doubled in size since last fall.
Vice President of
Enrollment Dr. Pepper Dill attributes the growth to the consistency and
expertise of the admissions counselors and leadership by the director of
admissions. “We’ve built sound systems that assist us in attracting and
communicating with prospective students and their parents,” said Dr. Dill, “but
it is the strengths of the people who implement those systems and their
practical experience that make the difference. It is the right people who are
disciplined enough to keep doing the right things over and over
again.”
Making
up the total are 1002 traditional students, 228 GOAL students (the college’s
degree completion program), 120 students in graduate teacher education programs,
and 19 LAMP students, the college’s Master of Arts in leadership and ministry
and 92 students in the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program
(UTEP).
Being
an alum gives Director of Admissions Michael Ritter a unique perspective in
recruiting new students. “Working in Admissions keeps me focused on the
college’s future, and I’m really excited about the prospects for future
growth. I strongly believe that Greenville’s best days are ahead of us, and
that gives me immense pride as an alum,” said Ritter.
Greenville College is a four-year accredited
Christian liberal arts school with more than 1300 traditional undergraduate,
graduate, and adult degree completion students. Founded in 1892 and affiliated
with the Free Methodist Church, the college is located in Greenville, Illinois,
45 miles east of St. Louis.
