How to Request Books in I-Share Print E-mail

  • Use the I-Share Library Catalog to search the holdings of all I-Share member libraries, or choose one library from the drop-down list.
  • Once you identify an item you would like to borrow, check to be sure that the item is available for loan from one or more libraries.
  • Click "Request" on the tool bar at the top of the page.
  • Choose "Greenville College" as your home library from the list of I-Share Libraries.
  • Enter your Library Borrower ID (the 14 digit number on your Greenville College ID card just below your name).
  • Enter your last name and click "Login". You may need to wait up to 60 seconds for the database to confirm your account information.
  • Click "OK" to "Request first available copy".
  • Enter your Library Borrower ID again.
  • If you want to pick the item up at a library other than Greenville College, choose a pick-up library from the drop-down list.
  • Click "Submit Request". You will then receive a message letting you know if your request was successful. If your request was not successful, verify that you entered your ID number correctly the second time. If the request is still not successful, please contact the Greenville College Library Circulation Desk at (618) 664-6601 or a Public Services Librarian at (618) 664-6602 or (618) 664-6609.
  • Once an item has been requested, you may check its status by logging into "My Account" in the Greenville College Library Catalog. My Account also allows you to renew your library materials.

NOTE: Materials requested from I-Share Libraries can take anywhere from three to fourteen days to arrive depending on where they are coming from in Illinois.
