Greenville College Hosts High School Choral Festival

Guest Conductor Dr. Weston Noble is a National Leader among Collegiate Choral Music Directors

GREENVILLE, ILL. The annual High School Choral Festival will begin Sunday February, 26 with the first mass choir rehearsal at 3:00 pm in the Greenville College Music Center. Over 200 high school students from the southern half of Ill., with some coming as far as Bloomington and Champaign, will participate in this year's festival. The public is welcome to attend and students will perform the Festival Finale Concert Monday February 27 at 6:30 pm in the Greenville College Music Center.

Dr. Weston Noble, a professor emeritus of Luther College in Decorah, IA will be conducting. In 1948, Dr. Noble took a temporary position as a conductor at his alma matter, Luther College, and ended up reaming for 57 years. Under his direction, Luther College has one of the longest consecutive performances of Handel's Messiah and at his height has directed choral groups of up to a thousand.

Greenville College is a four-year accredited Christian liberal arts school with more than 1300 traditional undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree completion students.  Founded in 1892 and affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, the college is located in Greenville, Illinois, 45 miles east of St. Louis
