A Distinguished Alumnus representing Greenville College demonstrates outstanding accomplishment in his profession or special interest. Significant volunteer efforts merit consideration as well as notable professional achievements. This award is to be presented to alumni and honorary alumni, with preference for those who attended Greenville College for two years or more.

As stated in general guidelines, a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award should represent the ideals set forth by the mission and vision of Greenville College. Those who demonstrate a continuing love for learning, active involvement in Christian endeavors, commitment to their church, community and family merit consideration for these awards. A Distinguished Alumnus recipient should also consistently demonstrate Christ-like character and demonstrate loyalty to the College. The individual's church and community service, creative activity, public awards, and appointments should also be considered in selecting recipients of this award.
