GREENVILLE, IL -
The Greenville College Choir will be taking a 10-day tour of Kansas, Texas,
Louisiana and Missouri this month where they will sing in a number of high
schools and churches, including the Basilica Cathedral of St. Louis.
This past January the College Choir and the Chamber Singers served as
choir-in-residence at the Calvin Symposium on Worship, an international
conference which included over 1,500 participants from 35 different countries.
The 46-voice Choir will perform its home concert at the Greenville Free Methodist Church (1367 East
State Route 140) on Sunday,
March 25 at 4:00 p.m. This year's program, entitled
"Come Away to the Skies," features a variety of selections including pieces
from Sweden, Russia, Lithuania and Zimbabwe as well as arrangements of American hymns and spiritual and gospel
music.
Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, Director of Choral
Studies at Greenville College, is the conductor of both the Choir and the Chamber Singers. Nursery care will be provided at
the home concert and a free-will offering will be taken to assist with the Choir's
touring expenses.
Greenville College
is a four-year accredited Christian liberal arts school with more than 1,450
traditional undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree completion students. Founded in 1892 and affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, the college is
located in Greenville, Ill., 45 miles east of
St. Louis.
