Dr. Ken Wales Produces Story with Christian Values
HOLLYWOOD,
CA. - The film Amazing Grace,
released in theatres February 23, carries a strong message of love, forgiveness
and freedom. Its producer, Ken Wales, is no novice to spiritually-focused
cinema. His accomplishments
include the hit CBS series Christy
and the Emmy-nominated mini-series East of
Eden, as well as numerous films. His latest offering tells the
tale of the British abolitionist, William Wilberforce, who used his status in
Parliament to end the nation's
slave trade.
Wales
was introduced to Greenville College
through alumnus Bob Briner, author of the Christian bestselling book Roaring Lambs. Wales' work encapsulates the
message in Roaring Lambs:
The world needs Christians committed to excellence in mass media
production. Recognizing his commitment
to communicating Christian values in the media, Greenville
College presented
Wales with an honorary
doctorate in 1995, and with the release of Amazing
Grace, Wales
continues to be a "roaring
lamb" in the film industry, incorporating a strong message with quality
production.
Wales
received the first Walt Disney four-year scholarship to the School of Cinema
at The University of Southern California. After graduation, his achievements were nothing less than spectacular; producing
and acting in numerous films, working as a consultant,
and serving as vice president of
production for Walt Disney Pictures.
Greenville
