GREENVILLE, ILL. – For the past three weeks, Greenville College
Management Department students have participated in state examinations for the
State Leadership Conference hosted by Future
Business Leaders of America – Professional Business Leaders (FBLA-PBL). Students
competed against teams from the University
of Illinois, Eastern
Illinois University,
McKendree College and Southern Illinois University
Carbondale. GC results are as follows.
Economic Concepts
Sean Murphy and Dan Eisenberg
placed first and second and will represent Illinois in the national finals later this
year. Justin Chesnut came in third.
Marketing Concepts
Justin Chesnut and Mark
Schopp placed first and second, moving on the represent Illinois in the national finals. Sean Murphy
came in third.
Marketing Analysis and Decision Making
Maria Krivtsova placed second in this comprehensive examination
for senior Marketing students. She will move on to the national final.
Future Business Executive
Maria Krivtsova placed first in Illinois for this demanding examination.
Competitors must take a multiple choice exam, written test, résumé and cover
letter test and interview.
Statistical Analysis
Nathan Strange placed first and moves on to the national
final. This is the second consecutive year that a GC student has won this
event.
Human Resource Management
Mark Schopp placed first and moves on to the national final.
Management Analysis and Decision Making
Justin Chesnut placed first in this comprehensive
examination for Management seniors and moves on to the national final. Mark
Schopp placed third.
Accounting for Professionals
Mark Schopp placed third in Illinois.
Sports Marketing and Management
TJ Gaylord placed second and will represent Illinois in the national
finals. Nathan Strange placed third.
Financial Analysis and Decision Making
Justin Chesnut won second place in this comprehensive
exam for banking and finance majors. This is a major accomplishment since GC
does not offer a full set of courses in this field. Chesnut will move on to the
national finals.
International Business
Dan Eisenberg took second place in Illinois and moves to the national final.
Impromptu Speaking
TJ Gaylord moves to the national final with a second
place win.
Business Law
Mark Schopp took third place in this event.
FBLA-PBL is the premier student
business association. Their mission is to bring business and education together
in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development
programs.
