With phase one of the comprehensive campaign drawing to a close in December 2005, we are moving
ever nearer our goal of $18 million. The fundraising efforts have focused on the following major
components: Annual Fund, Programs, Facilities, and Endowment.
Music Center
Construction workers have labored through the summer
to transform the former Free Methodist Church into the
Greenville College Music Center. Additional work will be
needed to complete the third floor of the former education
wing of the church,
as funds become
available. Greenville
College seeks to
honor one of the
great patriarchs
of the Greenville College choir and music program, Dr.
James E. Wilson, by establishing the James E. Wilson Music
Development Fund. This special fundraising effort will
support the renovation of the new Music Center, as well as
future development of the music program. Future plans
include conversion of the church sanctuary into a recital hall,
which will be named the James E. Wilson Recital Hall.
Soccer Fields
Greenville College has continued the expansion of the John M. Strahl Athletic Complex by recently breaking ground
on a $140,000
addition south of
Bowman Drive on
the west side of Elm
Street in Greenville.
The college is constructing two
soccer fields and a 100-space parking lot. Slated for use in
August 2006, the facility will be named Andrews Fields.
Almira House
The Almira House
restoration was
completed in time
for a dedication
ceremony during
Homecoming
Weekend, October
21-23. The Greenville Women’s Club also honored the project
this fall by presenting the college with a Restoration Award.
