GREENVILLE, ILL. – The Greenville College Choir has recently released a new compact disc recording entitled “And Can It Be?: A Decade of Hymn Singing.” This new CD includes seventeen different hymn arrangements including such well-known titles as “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,” “Amazing Grace,” “Beautiful Saviour,” “Abide With Me,” “Just As I Am,” and “Jesus Loves Me,” as well as a number of lesser-known hymns. This compilation CD features some of the Choir’s best recordings and showcases various GC Choirs from the last ten years (i.e. 1997-2007).
Proceeds from the sales of this new recording will go toward assisting current students in the college choir with expenses for the upcoming European Concert Tour. The choir will be traveling to Hungary, Romania and Austria during Holy Week in March, 2008.
“And Can It Be?” may be purchased at the Greenville Christian Bookstore on the Greenville College campus. Interested persons may also contact the Greenville College Music Department Office or Dr. Jeff Wilson, Director of Choral Studies at the college to obtain copies of the recording. A suggested minimum donation of $15 per CD has been set.
