Choir Presents Home Concert March 9th as Prelude to European Tour
The 52-voice Greenville College Choir and 17-voice Chamber Singers group will
perform their home concert at the Greenville Free Methodist Church
(1367 East State Route 140) on Sunday, March 9 at 4:00 p.m. This
year’s program, entitled “Songs of Faith,” features choral music from
England, Italy, Spain, Germany, France and Hungary as well as a wide
variety of selections from America.
The Greenville Choir recently performed at the American Choral Directors Association Central Division Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan where they sang for a gathering of 600 choral directors from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Later in March the Choir will be going on an 11-day Central European Concert Tour where they will sing in a number of churches and concert halls in Hungary, Romania and Austria.
Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, Director of Choral Studies at Greenville College, is the conductor of both the Choir and the Chamber Singers. Nursery care will be provided at the home concert and a free-will offering will be taken to support orphanages and missions work in Arad, Romania as well as missions work in Budapest, Hungary.
