Job Title:    Director of Alumni & Church Relations
Classification:      Administrative Staff, Full-time, 12 month position - Exempt
Department:    College Advancement
Supervisor:    Senior Vice President for College Advancement

Job Summary:
The Director of Alumni & Church Relations is responsible for activities pertaining to the alumni program.  The director is a key member of the Advancement Team.  The director seeks to serve all alumni and to bring them into a closer relationship with Greenville College.  The director meets with the Alumni Board of Directors on a regular basis, and seeks their advice on connecting alumni to the College community.  This includes efforts to connect alumni to:  other alumni, to students, faculty, etc.  Additional alumni programs, which provide meaning to the alumni association, originate within the Department of College Advancement.  Responsibilities include broadening the base of alumni support in the areas of student recruitment, financial giving, special events, and travel programs.  As a Free Methodist college the goal is to maintain a good relationship with the church: locally, regionally, and nationally.  The director will work to cultivate this relationship with the church.

Key Responsibilities:    
Key functions include coordination and facilitation:

  • of the Alumni Association Board of Directors;
  • of the homecoming and reunion programs;
  • of regional alumni events/chapters;
  • of involvement in annual and general conference of the FM church;
  • of involvement in local and key churches;
  • of special events on campus representing to Alumni;
  • of travel programs;
  • of cooperative work with the Sr. Director for Advancement for the reunion class gift project;
  • of making the case to Alumni for annual fund unrestricted support.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum education requirements - Masters degree
  • Experience needed: 5-10 years of Higher Education Experience.
  • Greenville College graduate preferred
  • Supervisory responsibilities - Secretary, Volunteers, Alumni Board, and Work-study student help
Contract: Renewable annual contract/agreement
