Greenville College to Sponsor New Band Showcase at 21st Cornerstone Festival
GREENVILLE,
Ill. – Greenville College will have a presence at the 21st annual
Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Ill., as the institution has recently
agreed to sponsor the New Band Showcase at the event. The winner of
the Showcase, whose competitors must be unsigned artists without
national distribution, will play on the Main Stage at the Festival,
which runs July 1-4, 2004.
In the words of
Sixpence None the Richer, "At each Cornerstone Festival, industry
professionals identify top new bands. Prior winners have included
Ester Drang, Eisley, and Over the Rhine."
A panel
of judges chooses the semi-finalists in Chicago, and the Festival's web
audience selects the finalists. The finalists receive full event
passes to the Cornerstone Festival along with an opportunity to
perform.
Greenville's sponsorship package
includes signage and announcements at the stage, a booth at the stage
or in an exhibit hall, a logo and tag on the Showcase's page in the
program, a major feature and banner ad on CornerstoneFestival.com, and
the opportunity to contribute at least one judge to the judging process
in Chicago.
For bands to receive consideration
for the event, they must submit an application by March 15, 2004, to
Cornerstone New Band Showcase, 920 W. Wilson Ave., Chicago, IL 60640.
