FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 12/03/03
Student Directed One-Acts Open December 10th
Once
again it is time to enter the doors of the Factory Theatre. Twenty-six
actors. Six plays. Four nights. 172 seats. December 10-13 the Factory
Theatre will open its doors to student directors, James Iler, Laura
Irish, Becky Joiner, Debbi Long, Sarah Meade, Amanda Ulrey, and Joy
Wrigglesworth.
In The Actor's Nightmare,
the main actor wakes up in his nightmare of not knowing his lines in
the different plays that occur. Ryan Wagenhauser, Dan Coulter, Laura
Irish, Joy Wrigglesworth and Kendra Tockstein make up this cast.
The Last of Sherlock Holmes
is a mystery with a twist. It's an ingenious depiction of the classic
literary characters with James Iler as the beloved Sherlock Holmes and
Grant Raddatz as Dr. Watson. Amanda Ulrey, Becky Joiner, and Hailey
Moore round out this impressive cast. A dramatic capture, damsels in
distress, fingerprints, and a surprise ending will have audiences of
all ages chuckling all the way home.
The Valiant,
by Holworthy Hall and Robert Middlemas, begins the night that convicted
murderer James Dyke is to be executed. A mysterious young woman who
claims to be part of his past interrupts his final hour of life. This
delicate, touching drama stars Christy Grimes , Jessica Herzing, Saul
Huber, Josh Stillwell, and Ryan Wagenhauser.
In a
comedy by Anton Chekhov, the matter of an outstanding debt brings two
people into conflict. Matt Reynolds, Casey Schmeichel and Molly Johnson
star in The Boor where fate decides that love can be born out of hatred with hilarious consequences.
Since the beginning of time, the story of creation had never quite been told the way Mark Twain did in The Diary of Adam and Eve.
Creation and all of its simplicity and timelessness is cleverly
portrayed through eyes of Adam, Brian Jackson, Eve, Cathryn Krause, and
the sly snake, Rosa Lennix. This adaptation by Mark Bucci will tempt
anyone to smile.
Michael Scanlon's Candid
is a moving drama of the sequence of events that lead to the collapse
of the Toefler family after an especially anguishing dinner episode.
The story is narrated by TJ Toefler, the oldest son in the family,
through pictures he presents for his photography class project. This
poignant story was voted one of the top ten one acts performed in US
high schools. James Iler, Vanilda Reyes, Avi Gonzalez, Nathan Phipps,
Calob Engstrom and Angela Cox perform this play.
Tickets
will be available at the Family Christian Stores, Watson's Drugstore
and Greenville College Dining Commons for the affordable price of
$3.00. . The doors will open at 7pm and the shows will start at 730pm.
Enjoy the hard work of these students as they strive to make you laugh,
cry and have a great time.
