Term Plan
Pay one-third of the total at the beginning of each term. (Advance
registration deposit will be deducted from the first term.) Payment for
the term is to be made no later than the Registration Meeting.
Monthly Payment Plan
We have arranged a monthly payment plan administered by Tuition
Management Systems (TMS). Your total cost after Financial Aid is then
split into 10 to 16 equal monthly payments, beginning on the date of
the Registration Meeting. Monthly payments will be due on the first of
each month. The cost of this plan is $90, but there are no interest
charges. TMS will mail you a monthly statement in advance of each
payment due date. All late payments will incur an additional finance
charge. Payments may be made with cash, VISA, MasterCard, and
checks made payable to Greenville College, GOAL. Grades can not be
released until the student’s portion of the balance has been paid.
Transcripts and diplomas will not be furnished until the account is
paid in full.
Employee Reimbursement Plan
The charges by term are due at the beginning of each term. Students
who qualify for reimbursement may use student loans or personal funds
to cover the cost of Term One, receiving reimbursement dollars to apply
to subsequent terms. Final reimbursement dollars can then be used to
pay the initial loan (government or personal) in full. Those fees not
reimbursable by the company must be paid using one of the payment
plans. Please provide a copy of the company reimbursement policy and
verification of eligibility to the Financial Aid office prior to
registration. The GOAL program will work with you and your employer to
provide additional information needed to facilitate reimbursement. If
you have any questions, contact the GOAL office at 618-664-6755.
Financial Adjustment
In case of early withdrawal, Financial Aid will be adjusted according
to federal guidelines for students. To be officially withdrawn from the
program, the student must complete and submit a withdrawal form.
Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal.
Financial Aid Information (2006-2007)
Students participating in the GOAL program are eligible for financial
aid resources. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, available at www.fafsa.ed.gov or by calling (800)433-3243/(800)4-FED-AID, determines the range of eligibility for grants and
loans from government agencies. Assistance may be available through an
employer or private organization as well. To begin the process, follow
the steps listed below.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
and mail to the federal processor. If your application is selected for
verification, a signed copy of your 2005 U.S. income tax return and a
verification worksheet will be requested.
- Provide the Financial Aid Office with a copy of your employer’s tuition assistance plan if you are eligible for this benefit.
Note: The 18-month Goal program will extend over two
financial aid award years, offering a maximum of three terms of
grant/loan eligibility where needed. A 2007/2008 FAFSA will be
necessary for the final term of study.
Federal Pell Grant
This is a need-based grant awarded on the results of the FAFSA you have
filed. You will receive a Student Aid Report from the Department of
Education which will state your eligibility or ineligibility. Grants
are need-based and range from $200 to $2025 per term.
Illinois Grant (Map) This award is a need based grant up to $2484 per term. Funding is limited, so it is important for students apply as early as possible. For MAP consideration, all students must have a 2006/2007 FAFSA application on file by August 1, 2006 to insure MAP funding for fall and spring terms. We also recommend for all students to submit a 2007/2008 FAFSA application or a renewal FAFSA by August 1, 2007 for MAP consideration for the 2007/2008 school year.
PHI THETA KAPPA
International Honor Society of the Two-year College. The
Greenville College GOAL Program awards up to two Phi Theta Kappa
scholarships per cohort. The award of up to $1,000 per student, per
term, is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Students with a
previous bachelor’s degree are not eligible. A minimum of 3.4 grade
point average and 60 or more semester credit hours completed are
required. A copy of the Phi Theta Kappa membership certificate is
required as a part of the GOAL application process. Contact your
two-year college for scholarship criteria.
FFEL Stafford Federal Stafford Subsidized Student Loan
This is a need-based loan (based on FAFSA data) for up to $5,500 per
academic year. Interest is fixed at 6.8% for new
borrowers and begins six months after your final class. Repayment also
begins at that time and can extend up to ten years. Loan proceeds are
disbursed in one installment per term.
FFEL Federal Stafford Unsubsidized Student Loan
This is the same as the Stafford Subsidized Loan program, except that it
is not need based and the borrower is responsible for the interest that
accrues during the in-school period. We suggest that you make monthly
interest payments to keep the loan balance at its original amount. You
may apply for any unused balance of the $5500 Subsidized Loan limit.
Additional amounts up to $5,000 MAY be approved contingent upon other
assistance including company reimbursement.
Any balance that remains after financial aid has been
deducted from the total charges, must be paid in accordance with one of
the standard payment plans. Questions regarding financial aid should be
directed to Tom Moroney (618) 664-7112.
