How is financial aid determined?
Financial need is based on the ability of the student's
family to pay for college considering factors such as income, assets,
debts and number of family members. The Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) assists Greenville College in determining a
reasonable amount for the family to pay towards education. The following
equation provides a simple explanation of how financial need is
figured:
How
can I be considered for financial aid?
- Apply for admission to Greenville College. You must be admitted
into the college before you can be awarded financial aid.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
as soon as possible after January 1st.
- Pick up a FAFSA from your high school guidance counselor or
Greenville College.
- Be sure to use your previous year (2006) tax forms to complete the
FAFSA.
- List Greenville College as a potential school on your FAFSA.
Greenville College's school code is 001684. If you did not list
Greenville, submit a copy of your Federal Student Aid Report to
the Financial Aid Office.
- Be sure to keep photocopies of everything. Also record mailing
dates of all applications, correspondence and deposits.
- Respond promptly to any request made for additional information
or documentation.
- Investigate other options for financial help. Many local companies
and organizations offer scholarships to students from the community
or children of employees.
We realize that all family circumstances are unique. Therefore,
we welcome visits, letters and phone calls from students and parents
to discuss your individual concerns.
