Sexual Harassment Policy Print E-mail

Policy: (Student Handbook, p. 24) Greenville College prohibits any form of sexual harassment. It shall be a violation of this policy for any student, employee or other representative of Greenville College to harass a student, employee or representative through conduct or communication in a sexual manner as defined by this policy.

Greenville College will act promptly to investigate all complaints, either formal or informal, verbal or written, of sexual harassment and to discipline any person who sexually harasses another within the jurisdiction of Greenville College.

Reporting:

Any person who believes he or she has been the victim of sexual harassment or any person with knowledge or belief of conduct that may constitute sexual harassment prohibited by this policy should report the alleged acts immediately to the designated Greenville College compliance officer. The reporting process is:

 

  1. Individual makes report to compliance officer.
  2. Compliance Officer investigates and interviews those involved.
  3. Compliance Officer sends report and recommendation to the President.
  4. President and Compliance Officer determine appropriate discipline.
  5. Complainant and the Accused are notified of the findings.
  6. Either party may appeal the decision to the Board of Trustees.

Discipline:

The specific discipline taken will be commensurate with the extent of the offense. Disciplinary action may range from warning letters or letters of reprimand up to and including a suspension without pay or dismissal of a college employee or expulsion of a Greenville College student.
