Since 1892, the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Computer
Science, and Physics have been instrumental in the education of
scores of future professional scientists, doctors, educators, engineers, etc.
Today Greenville is the beneficiary of a long-standing tradition
that has produced graduates who excel because those who taught cared
about the product they produced. They kept an eye on standards in
their disciplines and they cared about the quality of the product.
From the time line board in Snyder Hall (1892-1992), a fairly accurate
estimate of those persons who taught in the Mathematics/Computer
Science and science departments through the years can be determined.
During the past 15 years, these same departments have continued
to produce outstanding graduates who are now making their way into
their vocations.
