Lambda
Pi Eta is a National Communication Honors Society for undergraduates
and is officially sponsored by the National Communication Association.
This organization provides students with an academic outlet for
communication research through regional and national conventions,
provides appropriate recognition for academic achievements in communication,
and promotes unity and participation through various academic and
social events.
Greenville College's Delta Iota chapter of Lambda Pi Eta began in 1996. Membership is for a lifetime and inductions of new members are held each school year.
An Outstanding Senior in Communication is selected each year and presented a plaque at the college's annual Academic Awards Chapel.
Membership is by invitiation after a Communication or Media Promotions major has completed:
- 60 hours of classes
- 12 hours of COM classes
- Earned a 3.25 GPA overall
- Earned a 3.25 GPA in the department.
