Overview
Field experiences are assigned in pedagogical and professional education
courses. While participating in field experiences, candidates progress
from working with small groups of students in schools to partially
participating in classrooms to performing assigned tasks for teachers
to eventually assuming some teaching responsibilities. Field experiences
occur in a variety of settings to provide opportunity for candidates to
relate to the cultural contexts of rural, small town, and urban settings.
These field experiences also bring candidates into contact with diverse
populations and educational situations encountered by practitioners.
Candidates at Greenville will participate in field and clinical
experiences that include:
- Urban and rural settings
- Regular and special education populations, and
- A range of cultures
