Location and Housing
GC in Ireland will be housed at Inch House Irish Studies Centre, located on
beautiful Inch Island, near Buncrana, Co. Donegal, Republic of Ireland. Inch
Island is about 5 minutes from Buncrana, a resort town; about 10 minutes from
Derry, Northern Ireland, a medieval walled city; an hour and a half from
Belfast, Northern Ireland's political center; 1 hour from Glenveagh
National Park, one of the largest in Ireland; and about 4 hours from either
Galway on Ireland's west coast or Dublin on Ireland's east coast.
Expenses
The Greenville College in Ireland Program charges $13,000. However, all
expenses, other than the student's textbooks and personal shopping,
will be covered by this charge, including the following:
- Air travel from St. Louis to the connector city (Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Newark) to Shannon, Ireland, and home again.
- Tuition at Greenville College and room and board in Donegal, Ireland.
- Rental of buses and vans, and fees for drivers for all field trips.
- Entrance fees for all castles, cathedrals, museums, parks, art galleries, plays, etc.
- Meals on field trips.
- PhD-level professors for all required courses.
- Guest speakers related to your courses.
- 4 internet stations at our home base.
Admission Requirements
Greenville College in Ireland requires the following criteria:
- Good academic standing with GC or with your home institution.
- Commitment to the GC's Lifestyle Statement.
- Social and religious maturity.
- Approval from the coordinator of off-campus programs and acceptance to the program.
- A $500 non-refundable commitment fee paid by December 20, 2005.
- All remaining tuition, fees, and surcharges paid by June 1, 2006.
Enrollment is limited to 30 students each semester. Letters of reference and a
personal interview may be required.
