Student Receives Wall Street Journal Award
GREENVILLE, ILL. – Matt Schroeder, a recent graduate of Business Management at
Greenville College received the 2005 Wall Street Journal Academic
Achievement Award. Schroeder was nominated for this prestigious award
by members of the Management Department at Greenville College in
recognition of his outstanding academic performance in Business
Management.
In presenting the award, Dr. Ivan
Filby , Chair of the Management Department at Greenville College, said
that Schroeder exemplified the type of graduate that Greenville College
has always produced: a graduate grounded in the breadth of knowledge
that only a liberal arts foundation can bring, together with highly
developed practical and analytic management skills necessary for
success in the international business environment. Filby also highly
commended Schroeder for the way he integrated his Christian faith with
his commitment to business excellence.
The Wall Street Journal Student Award was developed in 1948 by the Educational
Service of Dow Jones. Schroeder will receive a year's subscription to
the Wall Street Journal as well as an engrained paperweight for his
accomplishment.
“I really value my education and it is good to see my hard work recognized by faculty,” said Matt Schroeder.
Schroeder participated in the spring graduation ceremonies at Greenville College
where he graduated cum laude. After his graduation Schroeder plans to
move to St. Louis . While in college, Schroeder participated on the
Greenville College track team, admissions ambassador, college scholar,
NCCAA athletic and academic All-American.
