Greenville Choral Union to Begin Rehearsing for 76th Anniversary Season of Community Messiah Performances

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/12/06 

GREENVILLE, IL - The Greenville Choral Union will begin vocal rehearsals for its Seventy-Sixth Anniversary Season on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m.  Rehearsals will be held in the Whitlock Music Center Recital Hall on the Greenville College campus (formerly known as the Greenville Free Methodist Church)  located at the corner of College Avenue and Elm Street.

Anniversary Concert Planned

This year's concert marks the seventy-sixth annual performance of George Frideric Handel's oratorio Messiah in Greenville.  In addition to Messiah, the 125-voice Choral Union and 50-piece orchestra will perform a variety of other seasonal selections by Russian, Swedish, German and American composers.  This year's presentation will also feature current members of the Choral Union as vocal soloists.  The concert will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in the Whitlock Music Center Recital Hall at Greenville College.
