Record Top SLIAC Honors

    The men’s and women’s tennis teams placed fourth and second, respectively, at the annual St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) championships in April.

    The men’s team posted 25.5 points in the team competition as Travis Siebert (No. 6 Singles), and the teams of Nathan Wiedman and Garrett Stephens (No. 2 Doubles) and A.J. Turner and Siebert (No. 3 Doubles) all placed second in their flights. The women’s squad tied for second place with 31 points. Kendra Tockstein won the championship at No. 4 Singles and earned a spot on the SLIAC all-conference first team. Kacey Zeller (No. 1 Singles), Karen McCrory (No. 2 Singles), Rachel Daniken (No. 3 Singles), the team of Zeller and McCrory (No. 1 Doubles), and the team of Tockstein and Asuka Nakano (No. 3 Doubles) all earned second in their flights.

    As a result of their team performances, Brett Brannon and Pam Craig were voted by their coaching colleagues as SLIAC Coaches of the Year. The women’s team also gained the Sportsmanship Award.
