Greenville College Students, Alumni and Faculty Invest in Prison Communities

Since 2009, GC students and professors, as part of the Greenville College Prison Initiative, have regularly visited the Federal Correctional Institution south of town. They tutor incarcerated men and women for the GED exam, play chess, lead a book club and so much more. Students investing themselves in the prison community echo examples set by Emeriti Professors Frank Thompson and Dan Jensen.

Greenville College is hosting a contest for high school and college students interested in a variety of forms of artistic expression. The Live Arts Contest is accepting entries through March 3 for short fiction, non-fiction, poetry and song lyrics, visual art, cartoons and graphic stories, and serialized novels.
