  • they want the knowledge, experience, and preparation Greenville College can provide to prepare them for better job opportunities or successful second careers.

Convenience is essential to our students, so we offer courses at a variety of teaching locations and community college campuses throughout South-Central Illinois.

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership equips students to:

  • Improve communication skills, both oral and written
  • Participate more effectively in a culturally diverse world
  • Develop a better understanding of self
  • Develop a better understanding of unique strengths

This interdisciplinary major incorporates coursework in leadership, research, organizational psychology, communication, religion, and business ethics. For students already settled on careers the degree provides an additional layer of leadership skills, plus in-depth problem solving and research skills.

Many Organizational Leadership graduates pursue master's degree programs in business administration, psychology, social work, education, and public administration.

Our seasoned faculty, with their impressive degrees, bring a breadth and depth of knowledge and real-world experience into each class. These caring teachers will respectfully bring out the best in you while relating on an adult level.

Adult Degree Completion is unique because its curriculum in Organizational Leadership is focused on practical application of the coursework in students' personal and professional lives. Instead of standardized tests or quizzes, students are graded on written assignments, presentations, and participation. This is real learning that transforms lives - and careers.

38 credits of upper-division coursework is required in the major to graduate with the Organizational Leadership degree.

A major research project is woven into the fabric of the 11-course curriculum, encouraging each student to focus on a personal or professional concern that has the potential to increase his or her value in the workforce.

Each student develops a portfolio during the 18-month learning period which helps students track their progress on personal, professional, and program goals.

The Organizational Leadership major is designed to enhance specific skills and outcomes, such as:

  • Communication (listening, comprehending, writing, speaking)
  • Inquiry and Analysis (identifying problems, thinking, critically, research)
  • Self-Management (goal setting, time management, self-improvement)
  • Leadership and Management (strategic thinking, managing change)

Some Adult Degree Completion students need additional credit to meet graduation requirements, but are unable to find the time necessary to return to the traditional classroom - and that's okay.

The typical adult student usually has an extensive work background and a variety of personal experiences. Here at Greenville College, students may be able to translate those experiences into credit. Up to 22 credits can be earned through this process, known as Prior Learning Assessment.

Admission Requirements

  1. A Minimum of 60 Transferable College Credits
  2. Three(3) Years full-time work experience
  3. College level writing skills
