Since 1974-75 the education program has been accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education, which participates in an interstate licensure agreement with 37 other states and the District of Columbia. In 2014, Greenville University received accreditation under the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) standards. Now Greenville University is accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
In 2018, Greenville University's social work program was accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The business programs are accredited with the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) since 2018. The undergraduate engineering major has begun the accreditation process with the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc (ABET) by submitting documents to their "readiness review" to determine if the program will enter the 2020-2021 review cycle.
The Briner School of Business at Greenville University has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11374 Strang Line Road in Lenexa, Kansas, USA. Institutional membership is held in the American Council on Education, the Association of American Colleges, the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities, the Federation of Illinois Independent Colleges and Universities, the National Commission of Education, and other professional organizations. It is one of the colleges approved officially by the Free Methodist Church of North America, and is recommended to any members who want to pursue Christian higher education.
Education-related Institutional memberships include the American and Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, the Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education in Private Colleges, the American and Illinois Association for School, College and University Staffing, and the Association of Christian Schools International.
