A Message from the Search Committee Chair

The Presidential Search Committee met in late July to begin the process of identifying the Greenville College's 12th president.

Initial discussions centered around identifying the school's leadership needs with input from Committee members who reflect the various constituencies of college. The Committee reviewed the institution's historic mission, present objectives, and future opportunities. Significant attention was given to the rapidly changing environment of higher education.

The Committee established a calendar for the search process with the objective of allowing the Board of Trustees to make the selection and announcement at their May 2013 meeting.

In the coming weeks the Committee's first public steps will be to post the Presidential Profile on the Greenville College website. The purpose of the Profile is to provide potential candidates with an introduction to Greenville College and a description of the president's position and skill sets sought. The site will also offer an input opportunity through which anyone can nominate candidates for the Committee's consideration.

In the months that follow, the Committee will work with our search consultant, Price Harding of CarterBaldwin Executive Search, who will assist the Committee in identifying and qualifying potential candidates around the country.

The Search Committee welcomes your regular prayers during the months ahead as we seek the Lord's guidance in selecting the next leader for Greenville College.
