Alums of GU's School of Education Awarded For ExcellenceTwo Greenville University graduateshavereceivedthe 2019 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. Brandan Lemarr and Kaci Lueking were among 102 recipients of the annual award that recognizes exceptional educators in the St. Louis area.

Each year, school administrators nominate teachers for their leadership, passion for teaching, knowledge, creativity, and dedication to students. Nominees include teachers at all levels, from kindergarten through university.

Kaci (shown receiving her award, below), is a 2016 graduate of GUs Master of Arts in Education program. She teaches first grade at Wabash Elementary School, where she has worked since 2015. She had previously gained distinction as the 2018-2019 teacher of the year for her district.Alums of GU's School of Education Awarded For Excellence

Brandan, a 2006 GU graduate, teaches 7th grade language arts and literature at Lewis and Clark Junior High School in the Wood River-Hartford School District.

St. Louis-based Emerson, a diversified global manufacturer and technology leader, sponsors the Excellence in Teaching Awards program. Since 2006,Emersonhas awarded $669,000 to area teachers and schools through its Gold Star Grant program.
