State's Failure to Deliver MAP Grants Throws Students Into Tailspin

At the start of the school year, the State of Illinois promised financial relief to about one third of GC's students through its Monetary Award Program (MAP). To date, the funds have not arrived, and students like Robert Smith have taken on additional debt to fill the gap. This is the second year in a row that the state's budget crisis has created cash flow havoc for students trying to pay their bills.
