Baseball Blanks MacMurray 9-0

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. Greenville College Baseball took the first of a three-game set against the Highlanders of MacMurray College on Monday as they extended their winning streak to seven games. Daniel Covert led the Panthers efforts at the plate with two homers on his way to a five RBI day.

Senior Kyle Hobar also turned in an impressive performance offensively, batting 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI.

Sophomore pitcher Derek Reckmann picked up the win going five innings with no hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts. MC only registered one hit against the Panthers in the 9-0 dominating performance.

With the wins GC baseball moves to 13-18 overall and 12-5 in the SLIAC. Greenville will look to pick up two more wins tomorrow as they travel back to Jacksonville to take on MacMurray College in the last two games of the series.
