Baseball: Covert Claims SLIAC Hitter of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Greenville College's Daniel Covert, a senior from Trenton, Ill. (Wesclin), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for his performance for the week of April 11-17.

Covert, a 6-5 left-handed batter, hit .462 6-for-13 at the plate and tallied 11 RBI in four games played last week. He had a triple, one run scored and two RBI in a 10-2 win against Fontbonne University. Covert then went 5-for-6 with eight RBI in a double header versus Westminster College (Mo.). He went 2-for-2 with one RBI in game one, and he followed that with a 3-for-4 performance with one double, a grand slam and seven RBI in game two.

This is Coverts first award of 2011.
