Baseball falls at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The baseball team was defeated 9-3 on Wednesday by Rose-Hulman. Trevor Montgomery was 2-for-4, and Tim Osborne and Shane Olmsted homered.

Rose-Hulman took a 4-0 lead with a run in the third and three in the fourth. Greenville and Rose-Hulman matched each other with one run in the fifth frame. Rose-Hulman put the game out of reach with a four run sixth, and Greenville tacked on single runs in the seventh and eighth.

Greenville pitched the game by committee with Phillip Reedy picking up the start and going two scoreless innings. Jordan Yakel got the loss as he gave up one run on three hits in the third inning.

Nick Bifano closed the game with 1 1/3 perfect innings.

The Panthers (14-16) travel to Blackburn on Friday.
