Baseball falls to Webster

SAUGET, Ill. -- The baseball team lost 10-5 to Webster on Tuesday as they finished their game that was suspended in the fourth inning on April 8.

Five Panthers recorded two hits. Jesse Getz, Jared Storment, and Max Gabriel were all 2-for-4. Tommie Brown was 2-for-3, including a home run and two RBI. Trevor Montgomery was 2-for-5.

Getz posted two runs scored, and Storment had two RBI.

Starting pitcher Tyler Pilcher saw his record fall to 3-2 as he gave up six runs, four earned, on six hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Phillip Reedy tossed three scoreless innings, and Dillon Reel closed the game with 4.1 innings. Reel permitted four runs on seven hits.

Webster ran Pilcher from the game in the first inning with six runs. Greenville got two runs in the top of the fourth, but Webster answered with one run in the bottom of the fourth and two in the fifth.

Greenville added one run in the top of the seventh and two in the top of the eighth before Webster ended the game with one run in the eighth.

The Panthers (14-15, 12-5 SLIAC) travel to Rose-Hulman on Wednesday.
