Baseball gets three homers from Hardin in 10-5 win

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Saturday was a great day for Mike Hardin as he hit three home runs to carry the Panthers to a 10-5 victory over St. Norbert in their final game of the spring.

The Panthers hit five home runs in the win. Home runs for the Panthers came when Trevor Montgomery homered in the third inning, Shane Olmsted homered in the seventh inning, and Hardin homered in the first, third, and eighth innings.

Ryan Strohm recorded the win for the Panthers. He allowed three runs over five innings. Strohm struck out three, walked one and gave up seven hits.

The Panthers were sparked by Montgomery and Hardin, who teamed up for eight hits and six RBIs.

St. Norbert jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first.

The Panthers tallied one run in each of the first, fourth and eighth. In the first, the Panthers scored on a solo home run by Hardin.

The Panthers received five runs in the third on two solo home runs, a groundout by Austin Marsh, and an RBI single by Danny Strohm.

Two runs in the top of the sixth helped St. Norbert close its deficit to 7-5.

The Panthers increased their lead with two runs in the seventh. Olmsted's solo blast got things going.

Greenville (6-13) returns to Illinois to face Principia in Elsah on Friday.
