Baseball routs Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team was a 12-3 winner at Illinois College on Wednesday. Senior Dalton McFarland went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in the win.

Illinois College took an early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first. Greenville answered with a run in the top of the second and eight in the top of the third to take control.

Illinois College got a single run in the bottom of the fifth, and the Panthers added three runs in the top of the seventh.

Phillip Reedy was the Panthers' starting pitcher as he went three innings and gave up two runs on five hits and three walks. Tyler Pilcher was the winning pitcher with a perfect inning of relief to gain the win in his first action of the season.

Austin Marsh and Michael Wittmer also added perfect innings of relief.

Tim Osborne was 3-of-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. He hit a two run homer in the seventh.

The Panthers (3-8) travel to Iowa Wesleyan for a SLIAC doubleheader on Friday afternoon.
