Baseball takes pair at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. -- The baseball team won two games at Principia on Saturday as they knocked off Principia 7-2 and 12-0.

The Panthers got one run in the first inning and three each in the second and third innings to build a 7-0 lead. Principia added their two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Greenville's Travis Ralls was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. He hit a home run.

Shane Olmsted went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Pitcher C.J. Opp was the winner as he gave up two runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out six and walked three.

Greenville piled up 12 runs on 11 hits and three Principia errors as they rolled to a win in game two.

Olmsted and Tommie Brown had two hits.

Jesse Getz scored three runs, Jared Storment added two runs scored, and Travis Montgomery tallied two RBI.

Pitcher Tyler Pilcher was the winner with six innings in his start. He limited Principia to three hits.

The Panthers (10-13, 8-4 SLIAC) travel to Millikin on Tuesday.
