Biggest Loser Finalist Sonya Jones to Speak at Greenville College

Biggest Loser Finalist Sonya Jones to Speak at Greenville College

Greenville College is delighted to welcome GC Alumna  and former Lady Panther, Sonya Jones ’96 onto campus on Monday, May 4, 2015. She will speak at 9:30 a.m. in Whitlock Music Center during chapel about her journey of physical and spiritual transformation while competing on Season 16 of NBC’s reality weight-loss show, The Biggest Loser. At 10:30 a.m., following her chapel address, there will be a question and answer session with Jones in Whitlock Music Center. These events are free and open to the public.

GC Alumna Sonya Jones Teaching Gym ClassWhile attending Greenville College, Jones majored in physical education and played on the women’s softball and soccer teams. During her college career, she was an All-American two consecutive years, All-American player of the year and is remembered as the first person to hit a ball out of the park at GC. After graduating from Greenville College Jones played two years of semi-professional softball. She currently works for the Williamsville School District outside of Springfield, Illinois as a physical education teacher and track coach.
