ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Panthers (12-5, 7-2 SLIAC) continue to collect conference wins as they swept Fontbonne University 3-0 in St. Louis on Tuesday night.

Sophomore offensive force Corinne Coon headlined GCs performance as she tallied 17 kills and hit .381 on the night to help pace the Panthers to the straight-set, 25-10, 28-26, 25-16 victory.

Freshman Nicole Schaeffer followed Coon with nine kills while junior Ansley Devrieze and sophomore Taylor Brunner combined for 10. Collectively, the Panthers averaged 14.33 kills per set and hit .320 on the night to dominate the Griffins.

At the net, junior Tricia Gall notched five blocks while Brunner added four. GC as a team posted 20 Block assists and two block solos in a strong defensive effort.

"We were able to get a lot of players in the game tonight and it was great to see so many players contribute for us, commented head coach Tom Ackerman. "Coon continues to dominate at the net while playing the best volleyball of her career. Its impressive to watch.

The Panthers will return to the court this weekend in the Greenville Tri Match and face Spalding and McKendree. Spalding University currently holds sole possession of first place in the SLIAC and defeated the Panthers in their first encounter this season. The Panthers will look to avenge that lose and regain the top spot in the conference.

"Saturday is a big match for us and our girls are ready, continued Ackerman. We are playing at a different pace compared to where we were the first time we played Spalding.

The Panthers will open against Spalding at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, and will close with McKendree at 3:00 pm.
