Football drops opener to Millikin

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The football team opened the 2014 season with a 66-24 loss to Millikin on Saturday. Nathan Callaway rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown. SamuelNorthey rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown. Northey also had 73 receiving yards.
Millikin jumped out to a 24-0 advantage after one quarter and went to the locker room at halftime up 45-10. Millikin rolled up 549 yards in total offense. Greenville had 442 yards of total offense.
Greenville's touchdowns were scored by Northey, Jacob Battaglia, and Callaway. Josh Morgan added a field goal.
Battaglia passed for 68 yards.
Greenville's defense was led by Nicholas Morrow with nine and a half tackles. Morrow also recovered a fumble. DaJuan Johnson posted a quarterback sack.
Greenville travels to Minnesota-Morris on Saturday for a game at Noon. It is their first of nine UMAC matchups.
