Football Evens Record at 2-2 with 49-18 Win

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The football team improved their overall record to 2-2 with a solid 49-18 win over Crown on Saturday. Steven Glover led Greenville's offense with three touchdowns among his 110 all-purpose yards.

Immanuel Gamble was Greenville's workhorse in a rushing attack that gained 412 yards on 54 attempts. Gamble posted 207 rushing yards and one touchdown on 18 carries.

Brendan Chambers went 8-of-11 passing with 108yardsand a touchdown pass to Glover. Chambers also rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

Greenville opened the game with a touchdown from Gamble on their first possession. Crown earned two touchdowns in the second quarter when Jacob Paridee and Ethan Keller caught passes from Crown's QB, Wes Stafford. GC posted four second quarter touchdowns,three runs from Gloverand 1 from Chambers, to open a 35-12 halftime lead.

Brenden Chambers had a touchdown run in the third quarter and Tremil Okoebor added another 6 points for GC in the fourth quarter when he ran 1 yard for a touchdown. With 21 seconds left, Crown's David Ruzga caught a Stafford pass to bring the game to it's final score of 49-18.

Cornerback Blake Bateaste led the Greenville College defense with six solo tackles and four assisted tackles. Linebacker Joey Silva posted a quarterback sack.

The Panthers (2-2, 2-1 UMAC) host MacMurray next Saturday at 1 p.m.
