Greenville Notes The Panthers come into the 2011 season with many new faces on offense. The team returns 5 starters from an offense that averaged over 30 points and 300 yards rushing per game in 2010. The Panthers must replace 3 UMAC Players of the Year. The Greenville College defense has high expectations after a successful 2010 season. They will have to fill the shoes for the 2010 UMAC Defensive Player of the Year, Joel Deayon, and two other 1st Team All-Conference players, David Maurer and James Binder. All three of these seniors left big shoes to fill.

Millikin Notes The Big Blue looks to rebound after a heartbreaking loss to open the season last week. Millikin took a 28-20 lead with 43 seconds left to play when quarterback Matt Holmes converted on fourth and goal with a touchdown pass from eight yards out to Erik Tobey. With under a minute left the Blue Boys of Illinois College scored a touchdown and converted a two-point conversion. Knotted up at 28 the game went to overtime. After a touchdown the Big Blue blocked the PAT attempt and converted the two point conversation. Only down 4 the Big Blue looked to win the game on their first play of overtime. A Holmes pass was tipped and intercepted by a IC defender.
