GC Men's Soccer Beats Rose-Hulman in Home Opener

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Panthers were victorious in their first home game of 2012, beating Rose-Hulman 2-0.

Greenville's first goal came in the 42nd minute when Dan Ruder headed the ball past the Rose-Hulman goalie. The finish cameoff of a cross from Robert Wright, a junior defender. Nathan Mayberry got GC's second goal of the night in the 69th minute of the game when he scored off of an assist by Jacob Krisher.

The Panthers' defense was soild throughout the game, as Rose-Hulman recorded only 4 shots in the entire 90 minutes of play. Goalkeeper Thomas Crown earned his third shutout of the season. Crown, who was the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week last week, recorded 7 saves in the game.

This win brings the Panthers' record to 3-0. The men play again at home on Friday against Rhodes College at 6:00pm.
