GREENVILLE, Ill.--The Panthers were defeated by Lindenwood-Belleville 2-1 today after a tough 90 minute battle.

Juan Pablo Santamaria scored a penalty kick for Lindenwood-Belleville in the 13th minute of the game.

Dan Ruder tied the game up in the 61st minute when he got a  breakaway and put the ball in the back of the net. This brought the score to 1-1. Six minutes later, Jesus Leyva answered right back for Lindenwood scoring off of a pass from Johan Sundberg through GC's defense. That would be the game's final goal, despite some great shots from Greenville in the game's last few minutes.

GC outshot Lindenwood 14-11 and Thomas Crown recorded 4 saves. The Panthers played a man down for 77 minutes, following a red card issued to GC keeper Ian McReynolds. Lindenwood was issued two yellow cards in the game as well.

This loss brings Greenville's record to 4-2. They return to the field Tuesday at 7:00p.m. when they take on Washington University at home.
