GC Volleyball Defeated by Dominican University in Star Classic

The Lady Panthers fell in their second game at the Dominican Star Classic, losing to the tournament hosts 3-0.

The first set ended 25-17 in favor of Dominican. GC went on to drop the second set 25-14, and the final set 23-15. This sweep makes Dominican undefeated in the tournament, with them winning 6 of the 8 sets played so far this weekend.

Ellen Lueking lead the team in assists with 17 in the match. Marie Kendrick, Tricia Gall, and Marissa Lovell each got 4 kills to contribute to the attack.

GC finished the match with 3 blocks. Jamie Schollenbruch recorded 17 digs, followed by Lueking who had 10 digs in the match.

This loss brings GC to a record of 4-3. The Lady Panthers hit the court again tomorrow as they continue to day 2 of the Dominican Star Classic. They take on Willamette at 10:00am in hopes of improving their record.
