GC Women's Tennis Beat Fontbonne

ELSAH, Ill.-- The Lady Panthers tennis team come out with a 9-0 victory against Fontbonne after the Griffins defaulted 3 matches and GC capitalized on their opportunities.

GC came away with 2 of the 3 doubles wins with the #1 duo of Jamie Harling and Kristin Minshall taking their match with an impressive score of  8-1 and the #2 team of Chelsie Evans and Kat Kennedy decisively beating their Fontbonne opponents 8-1.

Singles play also went well for the Lady Panthers. Kristen Lynch, in the #1 spot for Greenville, won her match with set scores of 6-3, 6-0. Freshman #2 player, Lexi Baysinger also won her match 6-1, 6-2 in her GC tennis debut. Evans, who played in the #3 singles match, came away with the 6-1, 6-3 victory. Jenna Rients, outplayed her Griffin opponent in the #4 match, with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win.

The GC women start off their season with a 1-0 record. They travel to Hilton Head, S.C. for their 2013 Spring Break trip and will play their first match of the trip on Monday, March 11 when they take on Fairmont St.
