Good Start to Outdoor Season at Washington University

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Greenville College competed at Washington University with four other teams to begin the outdoor season in the St. Louis Mini Meet. Greenville finished third against Washington University, Wheaton College, Principia College, and Fontbonne University.

For the Panthers, Gabby Perdue placed second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.88 seconds. In field, Willis Taylor was second in shot put (9.66m), while Maggie McMurtrey was first in the hammer throw (44.89m) and second in discus (37.36m).

The Lady Panthers were second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 51.33 (Perdue, Chelsea Gilles, Iyeesha Deberry, and Josie Muniania). They also received eight points for finishing third in the 4x400 meter relay at 4:28.90 (Taylor Brunner, Gilles, Taylor Thomas, and Rachel Renshaw).

The women scored 87 points total. They will return to Washington University next Friday and Saturday (March 28-29).
