GC Team to Lead Worship at Conference

A contingent from Greenville College, including ministry team Pursuit, will bring some of Greenvilles rolling prairies, neath fair skies of blue to Orlando, FL, July 13-16, for the General Conference of the Free Methodist Church (GC15). Alumni who attend will have multiple opportunities to identify with their alma mater, including picking up a free t-shirt at the GC booth and participating in worship led by Pursuit.

For more than a century, Greenville College has prepared men and women for full time Christian service. That service today includes leading worship, one of the fastest growing sectors of the Christian music industry. As part of GCs worship arts program, Pursuit focuses its stage presence primarily on serving the body of Christ.

Experiential learning is a hallmark of Greenville College, and this year, the students comprising Pursuit have gained experience as worship leaders at more than 20 events across the Midwest.

Those performing at the Orlando event include Ali Lund 15 from Parker, CO; Tyler Wright 16 from Raleigh, NC; Adam Curry 16, from Wheaton, IL; and Trey Brockman 18 from St. Louis, MO.

Pursuit will lead worship from 7:30 to 8:15 A.M. on Tuesday-Thursday, July 14-16; lead worship for junior high and high school programs, and perform at an ice cream reception and a luncheon for retired clergy. Its members will join GC alumni in painting the conference venue orange on Tuesday, July 14, by wearing GC t-shirts.

Another Pursuit team will also assist in worship at various family and youth camps throughout the Midwest this summer. Like their colleagues at GC15, the members of this group see their leadership role as first spiritual and then musical.
