Published: April 13, 2021

WAVERLY, Iowa - The men's track and field team saw Jarrid Williams participate in the long jump at the NCAA Division III national track and field championships on Thursday and finish 14th in the event.

Williams completed a jump of 6.71 meters as he improved by over one meter during the course of his three attempts.

His first attempt landed him at 5.34 meters. He improved to 6.52 meters on his second jump before hitting a mark of 6.71 meters on his final attempt.

His results did not allow him to qualify for the finals in the event which would have earned him two more attempts.

Williams best mark this season was a 7.23 meter distance at the NCCAA national championships.

On Friday, Andrew Sharp will compete in the 800 meter competition as he attempts to qualify for the finals held on Saturday.
